Last week we made a new friend named Marcelo after our meeting. He happens to be an international student from Brazil, one of the places we will be visiting this summer. During our dinner he gave us some insight on life in Brazil and some of the things that might surprise us when we get there, such as the practice of throwing toilet paper away instead of flushing it. He followed with telling us that if there isn't a trash can, you keep it in your pocket... after the awkward silence he told us that was a chiste (joke). Also, he said that the people in Brazil are going to be very welcoming to us, especially because we're American, and that they will probably be more than willing to talk to us in English or listen to our butchered Portuguese or Spanish.
I have to say it was a very fun and encouraging dinner, making it harder to wait until this summer. And now we have a friend that we can meet while we're traveling.
Gig 'em and God Bless,
The Few
